Dear Partners and Friends,

I hope this message finds you well.

Today, 12 August 2026, we proudly celebrate the 50th anniversary of Beit Atfal Assomoud (BAS), founded on 12 August 1976.

On this special occasion, on behalf of the Board Members, the entire Beit Atfal Assomoud team, and, most importantly, the Palestinian children, youth, elderly, and families who benefit from our services, I would like to express our deepest and most sincere gratitude for your solidarity, commitment, trust, and continuous support throughout the years.

Beit Atfal Assomoud began as a small house in Bir Hassan, Beirut, established to care for orphaned children who had lost their parents during the Tal Al-Zaatar massacre. What started as a modest humanitarian response has, over the past five decades, grown into a comprehensive institution serving thousands of children, youth, families, and vulnerable community members across Palestinian camps and gatherings in Lebanon.

Today, through our network of centers and diverse programs—including education, early childhood development, learning support, psychosocial and mental health services, vocational training, health and dental services, sponsorship, support for children and families, and community development—we continue to uphold our mission of empowering individuals, protecting dignity, and strengthening communities.

We are especially grateful for your ongoing support to our services and programs. Your contributions have enabled us to continue providing essential assistance and opportunities to those who need them most, even during some of the most challenging periods Lebanon and the Palestinian refugee community have faced.

Over the years, your partnership has been much more than financial support. It has been a powerful expression of solidarity, friendship, and belief in the dignity, potential, and future of the people we serve. Your continued commitment has helped us maintain and develop our services, respond to emerging needs, and remain present alongside Palestinian families in Lebanon.

As we commemorate 50 years of resilience, solidarity, and impact, we proudly reflect on what we have achieved together. This milestone belongs not only to Beit Atfal Assomoud, but also to all of you who have stood beside us and contributed to this journey.

On behalf of our Board, our staff, and all the beneficiaries of Beit Atfal Assomoud, thank you for your ongoing support, trust, solidarity, and partnership. We deeply value your commitment and look forward to continuing this important journey together, serving Palestinian children and their families and building a future based on dignity, opportunity, and hope.
