Our project for long- distance support for children from families in need is happy to welcome Farah, a 10 year old Palestinian girl from Syria. In this case, sadly there are no parents. They were both killed in the war, leaving Farah an orphan. Her aunt, who lives in Burj al Barajne camp in Lebanon, is taking care of her with the help of Beit Atfal Assomoud , who brought her to our attention. We are pleased to report that starting from today , Farah will also be supported by Marinella, who has been a long time sponsor with ULAIA and until recently had been helping a young boy, whose family's economic circumstances have now thankfully improved.
Palestinians do not give children up for adoption. If there are no parents, they turn to other relatives and if there are no relatives, then it is the community who takes responsibility for the child. This is one of the many reasons why sponsoring a child is so important. For the modest sum of 30 euro a month. You can make a real difference.
