Kissweh is an embroidery studio based in Los Angeles and Lebanon. Their goals are twofold: to be a contemporary source of exquisitely designed and timeless products inspired by the rich folk art of traditional Palestinian needlework motifs; and to give skilled craftswomen living in the refugee camps of Lebanon the opportunity to earn a fair living from their artisan skills. They are a team of eighteen women, thirteen living in Rashadieh refugee camp, four in Beirut at Shatila and Bourj Al Barajneh refugee camps and one, Claudia, in Los Angeles. The team is mainly Palestinian, but we also have a Syrian refugee and a Lebanese woman working with them.
