An intercultural project that has put in touch the children from the library at the Al Houla association in Burj al Shemali camp with the pupils from two classes at Primavalle, Rome, through stories and pictures, inspired by the collages of Simonetta, the curator of this project.
In the course of the years and the numerous exchanges of pictures and stories, both realities have been explored in great depth and curiosities that emerged on both sides have been satisfied. However, the climax of the project was the visit to Rome in 2017 of a Palestinian girl and the librarian from Burj al Shemali. This personal contact with a representative of the Palestinian people proved a truly memorable occasion and led to the launch of the book “ What a wonderful Story” by Simonetta Lambertini, published by “Q “ editions. This book is a collection of stories, in Italian and Arabic, and illustrations by our young writers. This ‘wonderful story’ may well continue with the children writing about life in the camp.
